In partnership with the MA Department of Public Health, we are pleased to share this list of upcoming trainings,resources, news, and prospects. These are opportunities to help to grow local leadership capacity and build healthier communities.
Who else needs to be at the table? What does success look like? Breaking out of our "silos" can be a challenge, yet multi-sector partnerships are increasingly recognized as vital to community health and systems change. Fortunately, because of the work of many coalitions over time, we've learned a good deal about on-the-ground challenges and solutions. CDC Community Health Improvement Navigator is now available! One-stop-shop for people who lead or participate in community health improvement work within hospitals and health systems, public health agencies, and other community organizations. (CDC)
Voices for Healthy Kids Program:Several different grant opportunities addressing six priorities: smart school foods; healthy drinks; marketing matters; food access; active places; and active kids out of school. (American Heart Association and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation)
Grants for Children and Communities: The Office Depot Foundation funds projects and programs such as Giving Children Tools For Success; Building Capacity to Serve Communities; and Disaster Preparedness, Relief, Recovery, and Rebuilding. Grants of $50 to $3000 will be awarded to select applicants (rolling deadline) Healthy Communities are rooted in multi-sector partnerships. Learn more at free training!
