“OPIOIDS 101: What You Need to Know”
The North Brookfield Substance Use Task Force is holding an informational presentation entitled, “OPIOIDS 101: What You Need to Know” on Thursday, July 28th from 7pm-8:30pm at the N. Brookfield Police Station. AdCare Hospital with be discussing addiction, facts and myths, signs and symptoms of abuse, overdose, and withdrawal, types of treatment, and how to prompt someone to get help. Q&A will follow.
The mission of the NBSUTF is to foster a community of support and hope for those in recovery by addressing and offering prevention opportunities, treatment options, and resources and formed an alliance with The Quaboag Hills Community Coalition Substance Use Task Force. Built upon the network created while preparing for the recent Chris Herren event, the foundation of this group includes: NB School District; NB Police Department; NB Senior Center; NB Youth Group; churches; recovery organizations; Project New Hope (veterans support); Wendy Sergeant, NP, CAGS, MSN, NA, APRN-BC, PHNP-BC; human service representation; addictions prevention/recovery specialists; and concerned citizens collaborating to help N. Brookfield address all addictions as a community.
