Our DFC grant requires that we get a certain amount of in-kind donations including labor for other organizations that serve our goals. Examples: modifying your school’s drug policy, applying for a grant for life skills training for students, attending a training.
Both Coordinator and Director positions are Town of Ware employees. A search was conducted and appointed Nekr Jenkins as Coordinator and Gail Gramarossa as Director.
-When a member of the coalition is talking to anyone who is directly involved in legislation and policy, they must be extremely clear to be educating and informing, not lobbying. No requests to vote a certain way.
-Private citizens will be permitted to express their opinions at our legislative meeting next month.
-Lots of changes are coming at the federal level, but our grant should have no concerns.

Youth Development – interests in developing Youth Summits, where youth leaders can compare and share information, create “youth leadership boot camp”
New form to apply for Narcan trainings will be available on QHCC and Hampshire Hope websites.
Lots of resistance to prevention programs addressing opioid crisis; lack of local tragedy, police officers don’t carry Narcan, resistance to arresting local athletes. Culture of anti-interference – “we’ll raise our kids the way we want to raise our kids.”
