The Quaboag Hills Substance Use Alliance (QHSUA) is a dynamic group first created in June 2014, when the Carson Center at Valley Human Services, now known as BHN Valley Human Services, hosted an event to address the impact of substance use in our community.
In light of the alarming increase of addiction and substance use disorders in the region, the Quaboag Hills Substance Use Task Force, now known as the Quaboag Hills Substance Use Alliance, was createdbased on the following:
The QHCC's catchment area was not receiving sufficient prevention and intervention for substance use disorders.
A review of statewide, regional, and local task forces/coalitions currently addressing substance use, and the geographic areas which they serve, revealed that there is no comparable group addressing substance use in the Quaboag Hills area at this time.
The activities of the QHSUA are in line with the QHCC's mission.
The QHCC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency and serves as host agency for the QHSUA.
