The QHCC is made up of agencies and organizations who work for the people of the Quaboag Hills region in western Massachusetts. We help people get what they need to solve basic problems: food, shelter, childcare, health and substance use, support and information.
What is the Quaboag Hills Region? Is my town in it?
The region covers a set of towns in three Massachusetts counties.
A Brief History The Quaboag Hills Community Coalition is a formal name for a lot of connections and relationships that have existed among various organizations for years. The Quaboag Hills area a challenging place to serve people; the QH towns are set at the very edges of their respective counties and are sometimes overlooked by state and county services.
Neighboring towns use different Community Health Network Areas, different United Way chapters, and different social service agencies. This can create challenges and confusion. The QHCC tries to help connect people who need servies with the correct agencies that provide help.
We do this by gathering once a month to talk about different problems facing our communities. We also invite speakers from different area organizations, who teach us about the resources we can use to ease some of these problems. We've learned about what's being done to prevent and address domestic violence, substance use, hunger, and homelessness. If your group would like to come to one of our meetings, get in touch on our contact page.
