The QHCC is made up of members and agencies who work for the people of the Quaboag Hills region in western Massachusetts. We help them access resources to solve basic problems: food, shelter, transportation, childcare, health care, substance use treatment, support and information.
A Brief History The Quaboag Hills Community Coalition is a formal name for an informal network of relationships that have existed among various organizations for years. The Quaboag Hills area is a challenging place to serve people; the QH towns are set at the very edges of their respective counties and are often overlooked by state and county services.
Neighboring towns use different Community Health Network Areas, different United Way chapters, and different social service agencies. This can create challenges and confusion. The QHCC helps connect people who need services with the correct agencies that can provide those services in their town.
We do this by gathering once a month to discuss the challenges facing our communities. We also invite guest speakers from area organizations, who educate our members about resources we can use to ease some of these problems. Past speakers have addressed issues such as domestic violence, substance use, hunger, foster care, and homelessness. If your group would like to attend or present at one of our meetings, get in touch on our contact page.
